Data breach investigation
Acadian Ambulance Data Breach Investigation
Reported 600,000-record claim · Connection to 2024 incident unverified
Hall Attorneys is investigating an unverified claim that records linked to Acadian Ambulance Service, Inc. are being offered for sale, including alleged Social Security numbers and dates of birth. Acadian previously confirmed unauthorized network access in June 2024. Whether the reported 600,000-record offering relates to that incident, a separate event, or an inaccurate claim has not been established.
What does the new report claim?
A Dark Web Intelligence (@DailyDarkWeb) post reports that a threat actor claims to hold about 600,000 records linked to Acadian Ambulance Services. The post describes CSV data labeled 2024 and alleges that a sample is public while the full file is offered behind a paywall.
According to the post, the alleged fields include full name, gender, date of birth, Social Security number, ethnicity, address, county, ZIP code, and home telephone number. These are reported allegations, not independently verified categories of exposed information.
The post was published October 29, 2026, Pacific time (October 30 UTC). That is the reporting date, not a confirmed date of unauthorized access or data theft. Hall Attorneys has not authenticated the offered records, verified the claimed count, or established whose information is included. A record count does not necessarily equal the number of unique people affected.
The claim remains unverified. The sources reviewed for this page do not include an Acadian confirmation of a separate 2026 breach or of this reported offering. We have not accessed the alleged sample or purchased the offered data.
What did Acadian confirm about 2024?
Acadian’s official Notice of Data Privacy Event says it detected suspicious activity on or around June 21, 2024. Its investigation found unauthorized network access between June 19 and June 21, 2024, when files and folders were or may have been taken.
The notice identifies potentially affected patient information as names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and medical information collected during patient intake. The information involved varied by person. Acadian described notifying affected individuals and offering credit monitoring and identity theft restoration services.
That notice concerns the 2024 incident. A dataset labeled 2024 does not establish its origin or prove that a new breach occurred. Receiving a notice about the 2024 incident does not establish that your information is included in the newly reported offering. We have not established whether the offering contains previously compromised information, additional records, or authentic Acadian data at all.
What are we investigating?
Acadian Ambulance’s website lists services in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. We are examining the reported offering, any connection to the confirmed 2024 incident, safeguards for sensitive information, notices and assistance provided, and any related privacy harm, identity theft, losses, or response costs.
The report does not establish that all Acadian patients or employees were affected, that the claimed records are accurate, or that anyone experienced identity theft because of this offering. Individual exposure, the source of any misuse, and legal responsibility require further investigation.
Who should contact Hall Attorneys?
We would like to hear from current or former patients, patient representatives, employees, and others with information suggesting their records may be involved, particularly those who:
- Received an Acadian privacy notice, including a notice about the 2024 incident or any later update.
- Encountered suspicious messages, credit applications, bills, or insurance activity using accurate, nonpublic personal information.
- Spent time or money responding to suspected misuse and have information suggesting a connection to their Acadian records.
Receiving care or working at Acadian does not establish that your information was exposed. Suspicious activity alone does not establish a connection to either the reported offering or the 2024 incident. An initial inquiry does not identify you publicly as a client or plaintiff.
What can you preserve and do now?
Keep privacy notices, envelopes, emails, account alerts, suspicious messages, billing and insurance correspondence, and records of relevant expenses, losses, reports, and time spent responding. Preserve information already in your possession; do not search for, purchase, download, or share allegedly stolen patient records.
The Federal Trade Commission explains that a credit freeze can help prevent new credit accounts from being opened in your name. Placing or lifting a freeze is free; contact Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion separately. You do not need proof of a breach to request a freeze. Review your credit reports, account statements, and insurance explanations of benefits for unfamiliar activity.
For suspected identity theft, IdentityTheft.gov provides reporting and recovery steps. Verify unexpected calls or messages through contact information you already trust before sharing personal information.
Do not send Social Security numbers, medical records, diagnoses, insurance identifiers, passwords, or complete financial-account details in an initial email or website submission. Describe sensitive documents before sending them.
Request a review without sharing sensitive records
Provide your name, state of residence, a safe way to reach you, your relationship to Acadian Ambulance, and whether you received a privacy notice. Briefly describe your concern and when it arose. Let us know whether it is safe to leave a voicemail.
If you are contacting us for a child or another patient, describe your relationship without sending their medical history. If additional records are needed, we will discuss an appropriate way to provide them. Contact Acadian directly for questions about treatment, billing, medical records, or any notice it issued.
